What is this?

I love the A-10C, and being a room short of doing what thewarthogproject.com did, i decided that i will do it my way. I recently got a racing seat, the F-GT Lite and decided i will build some A-10 panels for it in about 2/3 scale.

However, after about 2 weeks on and off of fiddling around in my CAD software i realized it wouldn’t really fit, and there would be so many compromises it wouldn’t be worth the effort, and not very fun in the end.

So i took the plunge and decided to make it full scale, but without taking up a spare room. See, the plans made by Flim over at the ED forums are fairly modular, and i already have a 55” OLED TV as my main monitor. So i can just mount the consoles on castors and roll it all away when not in use.

Naturally, it all needs to be connected somehow. The plan is to use DCS-BIOS over RS485 utilizing all 3 buses. One for each console and the third for the main instrument panel. I will run 12v and RS483 over a custom cable between the consoles, connecting via GX12. Each console will have one or more hubs that distribute 12v and RS485 via regular ethernet cables to the panels. This way, everyhting can be quickly disconnected, and the cockpit will be usable from the first panel.
